HOW CAN I REDUCE MY THROAT HIT?
« on: December 12, 2012, 10:24:00 PM »
Using a legacy with a kick, running 5 watts, nicotine strength 15 mg, 80% AG and 20% PG, 5% flavour, 2.4 attomiser, does anyone have any idea how to lower my throat hit? couple of ideas spring to mind,

go 100 % AG.

enlarge the holes on the bottom of the vivi nova, ( this may me to draw more air and allow less juice being vaped) any body tried this? does it work?

or enlage the three vent grooves on top of the legacy! to give a similar effect as above?

any thoughts would be much appriciated.

Looking at your spec there PJ, I'd try dropping your nicotine strength by a couple of points...

Huge ditto on reducing the Nic content. Imo it is one of the biggest contributors to TH.
Drop it to between 10 and 12mgs and toot a little more. Simples!!  ;)

What flavour are you using?  Ive found sweeter/fruity flavours generally hit lighter than say, baccy or menthol..

Your fomula looks ok to me - I run about 13% nic 125 flavour, but its not accurate  ;)
Happy vaping!

125 Flavour???
Flavours
vanilla
apple
peach
strawberry
butterscotch
maple syrup
cinnamon
no thoughts on opening up the vents, just reducing the nicotine level then?
Cheers for replys guys.

Worth upping the atomiser resistance (and obviously removing the Kick).

Hi PJ,

Just to confuse you further (with the sole intention of helping)...

One thing you have to bear in mind is that there is absolutely no correlation between nicotine levels quoted for cigarettes and those quoted for e-liquids (here's a handy link to check out: http://www.eccauk.org/index.php/consumer-affairs/33-nicotine-equivalency-of-ecigarettes-vs-cigarettes.html).

In fact (and here comes the mind melt moment), recent research  has demonstrated that after vaping e-liquids, there are virtually no significant nicotine levels detected in human plasma anyway - again, here's the link: http://tobaccoanalysis.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html.

In short, try lowering the nicotine level in your e-juice until it suits your throat, and don't worry about the number of milligrams you end up with, because if you think you need more nicotine, then just vape more!

Don't touch that, or you'll ... oh now look!

Hi Folks,

Thanks for you replys guys, all three things I didn't want to do really, and very reluctantly did, but to be honest it has been worth it, I didn't want to up the resistance on my attys because I knew I would be rebuilding them soon and know I will have trouble rewinding them to a higher resistance, but I have tried them slightly higher and the hit has changed, although different juices seem to be affected more than others, the kick makes a slight difference also, which has dissapointed me as I liked the idea of a consitant vape as thats the reason for buying it, but the biggest difference has been found by lowering the strength of nicotine, and to anybody experiancing similar problems to myself, should try this first as it really makes a noticable difference, hope this helps somebody.
